BBC Manchester Radio with Mike Sweeney and Rosemary Quaye the Saxophone Lady
The Saxophone Lady Rosemary Quaye pleased when BBC Radio Manchester rang me her with an invoation to play in Stockport to play a set with Mike Sweeney and his band, this was in front of a jubliant crowd.
Mike Sweeney is more than a radio DJ, he has had an interesting career from being in his various bands the Salford Jets with a hit in the 1980’s and additionally being a song writer, he has a keen ear for great sounds. Mike still appears with the Salford Jets and also the Mindbenders and the Swinging Blue Jeans. Mike sweeney can be heard daily on the prestigious breakfast BBc Radio Manchester Radio show. Mike’s tallents are not limited to radio and bands as he has also had TV shows which are still being shown Sky’s Men and motors.
Rosemary then had a live chat on air about the recent performance at the MUFC player of the year awards 2015 where Man Uniteds Manager Louis Van Gaal really enjoyed listening to the Saxophone lady playing the sax throughout dinner where she entertaining him and his fellow players and guests.
Live on air Rosemary played one her favourite tracks, which was alos played for Louis. The was song was ‘ let me love you’ by Mario. In 2008 this song was ranked at number 45 on Billboard ’s All-Time Top 100 Hot 100 singles during the first 50 years of the chart; so a potentail modern classic which sounds particularly great with the saxophone.
